Hollywood: Attractions

1 - Universal's Great Movie Adventure
E-Ticket
Any Height
Similar to the former Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios, this is where guests can travel through the movies like never before. Featuring astounding visual effects, lifelike animatronics, and an unforgettable ride experience, this ride is sure to put guests in the middle of the action.

QUEUE:
Guests enter into a European cinema, where videos on the history of cinema play. This includes nods to French, German, and Italian influence in cinema, and how it originated in the area in the late 1800s. Guests then make their way through a room containing movie posters for the films represented on the ride. From here, guests enter a movie set-like area where they board a trackless ride vehicle, one of the biggest to date, that turns so that guests can see the action unfold around them.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
As the vehicles approaches a large cinema entrance, guests are introduced to their tour guide. Tours are in four languages: French, German, Italian, and English, and speakers of each language narrate each tour. The ride begins by going through scenes of musicals, most notably La La Land (2016) and Wicked (2024). The former features the dance in the film while the latter features the arrival in the Emerald City. The vehicles then proceed into the streets of New York, recreating the scene from Ghostbusters (1984) where they face off with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The vehicles escape into a dark alleyway, recreating a gritty 1940's New York as seen in The Godfather (1972.) However, during a shootout between the police and a gang, a gangster hijacks the vehicle, taking the guide hostage.

The vehicles then enter the streets of Surrey, where they see the opening scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) where Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Rubeus Hagrid drop off a baby Harry. They then see the view of Hogwarts castle from that same film, as seen in the boat scene. Then, guests enter a war-torn Hogwarts where a now-grown Harry faces off with Voldemort, as seen in the climax of Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hallows - Part 2 (2011.) Then, things get spooky as guests enter Frankenstein manor, where Dr. Henry Frankenstein and his assistant are bringing their monster to life. This recreates the famous "It's Alive" scene from Frankenstein (1931.)

While the tension is still strong, the vehicle moves out into a misty room filled with water. As the music from Jaws (!975) plays overhead, unsettling things happen around the water and a shark fin is spotted. The gangster says there is nothing to fear as he gets off the vehicles and goes out onto a boat, which is seen sunken moments earlier. The shark appears, but the guide fends it off with a gun.

While guests are still recovering from the near-death encounter with the shark, guests go through the scenes of some action movies. They move past the planes of Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and then go into Courthouse Square, where they witness the climax of Back to the Future (1985) where Lightning strikes the clock tower and sends Marty McFly back to the future.

After this, guests enter a movie theater, where a video showing the history of film plays. This features several clips from movies both Universal and non-Universal. Then, screens all around the theater show characters from film on moving film reels. After this, the tour guide will lead guests back to the loading station, where they get off their vehicle and take a walk back into the park.

(This is an idea for a new ride at Universal Orlando, placed in the studio park.)
